What Low Testosterone Can Feel Like Day-to-Day
Low testosterone can affect your energy, strength, sexual health, and mental focus. The Endocrine Society estimates that hypogonadism affects approximately 35% of men over age 45 and 30% to 50% of men with obesity or type 2 diabetes. However, symptoms alone cannot confirm that your testosterone is low.
You may have low testosterone if you’re experiencing:
A noticeable drop in strength or endurance during workouts
Persistent fatigue, even after rest
Decreased sex drive or changes in sexual performance
Loss of muscle mass or increased body fat
Unexpected weight gain
Difficulty concentrating or mental fog
Irritability, low mood, or lack of motivation
Slower recovery after exercise or physical activity
A general sense that you’re not performing at your usual level
How We Build Your Personalized TRT Program
Every stage of your TRT plan is guided by your lab data, your symptoms, and your long-term health goals. Here’s what you can expect:
Comprehensive Lab Evaluation
We start with an in-depth blood panel to evaluate your testosterone levels and other key biomarkers, giving us a clear understanding of your hormonal health.
Find The Ideal Treatment Plan
Based on your results, we create a plan that may include testosterone therapy along with lifestyle changes, nutritional guidance, and supplement strategies.
Ongoing Monitoring with Direct Access to Your Provider
We track your progress through follow-up labs and ongoing communication, adjusting your treatment as your body responds over time.
What Your Testosterone Treatment Plan Might Look Like
We do not hand every patient the same prescription or default to the most convenient option for the clinic. Your provider will explain the available delivery methods and help you choose one that fits your routine and supports consistent treatment.
Whichever method you use, your treatment will continue to evolve with you. We monitor your symptoms and biomarkers through follow-up testing, then carefully adjust your protocol based on how your body responds. The goal is not simply to raise a number—it is to help you feel and function better while keeping your long-term health at the center of your care.
When Testosterone Therapy May Make Sense
If you’ve noticed consistent changes in your energy, strength, or overall performance, it may be time to take a closer look at your testosterone levels.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Feel a decline in strength, endurance, or physical performance
- Struggle with ongoing fatigue or low energy throughout the day
- Notice a drop in sex drive or changes in sexual performance
- Have difficulty maintaining muscle mass or managing body composition
- Feel less focused, motivated, or mentally sharp than usual
You may not be a good candidate if you:
- Have a history of hormone-sensitive conditions that require further evaluation
- Have untreated or unstable medical conditions
- Have a history of prostate cancer
Treating The Cause, Not Just The Symptoms
Low testosterone isn’t just a sign of aging; it’s often tied to deeper changes within your body. At Spartan Medical Associates, we identify and address those underlying factors to help you feel better now and thrive as you get older.
Common contributors to low testosterone may include:
- Natural decline in testosterone levels with age (andropause)
- Chronic stress and elevated cortisol levels
- Poor sleep quality or disrupted sleep patterns
- Increased body fat and changes in metabolic health
- Insulin resistance and blood sugar imbalance
- Nutrient deficiencies that impact hormone production
- Sedentary lifestyle or lack of resistance training
- Environmental factors that can affect hormone balance

TRT Questions We Hear Every Day
How much does TRT cost?
Our initial evaluation costs $498 and includes the in-depth assessment needed to understand your hormonal and metabolic health. Ongoing care is $125 per month, which includes direct access to your provider and necessary follow-up lab work. Medications and supplements are priced separately because those costs depend on your individual treatment plan.
We clearly explain your costs before treatment begins. We also do not resell proprietary or compounded medications at inflated markups, helping you access appropriate treatment without unnecessary added expenses.
How long does it take to see results?
Some men notice changes within a few weeks, while others may take a few months to feel a difference as your body adjusts and we fine-tune your treatment over time.
How long does treatment last? Will I be on TRT for life?
TRT is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. We create your care plan based on your goals, lab results, and the way your body responds, with ongoing evaluations to determine what makes sense long term.
Is TRT safe? What are the risks and side effects?
TRT is generally considered safe when prescribed and monitored appropriately. We start with comprehensive panels and continue tracking your testosterone levels to make sure your treatment stays aligned with your needs.
Can TRT help with erectile dysfunction?
TRT may improve sexual desire or erectile function when low testosterone is contributing to the problem. However, erectile dysfunction can also be related to cardiovascular health, metabolic conditions, medications, stress, or other factors.
Rather than assuming testosterone is the cause, we evaluate your hormones alongside the broader factors that can affect sexual health.
